Educational School Travel Tours

“We learn 10% of what we read, 15% of what we hear, but 80% of what we experience…”

An educational tour provides an invaluable learning experience outside the classroom. Our school group team will work with you to create an educational program that works in conjunction with your school’s curriculum.

Classroom preparation prior to a tour can include research on a particular area, attraction, activity or geographical feature. We work with national park services, local experts, interpretive guides, activity providers and have educational resource material that can enhance an educational experience abroad.

Popular Educational Program Topics

Below we have highlighted some popular educational topics. Remember these are only examples so please contact us and we will put together an all inclusive program to meet your needs and requirements.

Geography

There is no better way to further geographical understanding than to see and experience landscapes, cultures and processes first hand. To experience this we offer a range of geographically based learning packages. Travel abroad inherently provides an element of geographical immersion, whether it is reading a map, being exposed to local climate and people, seeing the impact of local tourism, viewing the layout of a town, or exploring mountains, lakes, glaciers or fiords.

Tourism

Our destinations are full of iconic tourist attractions and provide the perfect opportunity to combine study and interpretation with sightseeing and visiting famous attractions.

Modern Foreign Languages

The ideal way for students to practice and develop oral language skills is to visit the country of the target language. Communicating with locals and tour guides in real life situations (such as shopping, ordering food in a restaurant or taking part in an adventure activity) will boost students confidence significantly. Listening to native speakers will also help develop student’s pronunciation and intonation. All tours focused on students foreign language development are taken with local native speaking bilingual tour guides.

Culture

All our destinations have strong and distinctive, vibrant cultures. Tours include a close up look at the culture of the countries visited whether it be from watching a local sports match to a traditional meal.

History & Politics

There is nothing better than visiting an historical site for enhanced understanding of a curricular topic. Many museums offer hands on multi-media exhibitions and course material that can be used in class pre-departure. The various structures and histories of international government and legislation can also provide insight and enhanced understanding of a particular area of your schools curriculum.

Science

There are many science related visits that will stimulate and excite a pupil’s curiosity about phenomena and events in the world around them. Out of the classroom visits will encourage creative thought and critical analysis whilst knowledge will be increased through questioning and discussion.

Art, Design, Photography and Technology

Visit some of the world’s most wonderful exhibitions. Visits can help develop a students understanding of the representation of ideas, beliefs and values as well as the different conventions used in world art. Throughout the world there are unlimited design and technology opportunities that can stimulate students understanding by recognising patterns in design and the use of materials, interpreting information and encouraging the practice of research.
